Have 30 minutes? Get healthy.

Why should you exercise?
The benefits of exercise are hard to ignore. Take a look at just a few of the great things it does for you:

  • Improves your mood and sharpens your mind
  • Combats chronic illness
  • Strengthens your heart and other muscles
  • Helps you sleep better
  • Improves your self-esteem

How do you start?
Start by talking with your doctor. If you haven’t been active in a while, start slowly and work up to longer, harder activities. If you can’t find 30 minutes at a time, go for 3, 10-minute spurts a day.

Make it fun!
There are lots of activities that raise your heart rate and benefit your health, but don’t feel like exercise. Figure out what’s fun for you, and aim to do something active for 30 minutes most days of the week.

  • Play kickball with your family
  • Go dancing, or dance in your living room
  • Take a frisbee to the park with your dog
  • Walk around the block as you chat with your neighbor
